Book Review – “Heroes And Villains Of The Bible,” Tama Fortner, Author

Heroes & Villains Of The Bible, written by Tama Fortner, is a collection of Bible stories designed to teach children about being heroes for God and warn them of
the trickery of  villains.

The tone and direction of this book is declared right from the introduction as the author pens the following; “Being a hero isn’t about capes, or special powers, or
being faster than a speeding bullet-it’s about choosing to follow God. One day at a time, one step at a time, one child at a time.”

The scriptures used within this book are taken directly from the International Children’s Bible which brings an easy to understand translation into the hands of today’s children. Complete sections of scripture are used for accuracy in the story, then Tama expounds upon those scriptures bringing an understandable lesson
directly into the heart of the reader.

Each of the fifty segments, 25 from the Old Testament and 25 from the New Testament, begins with a wonderfully illustrated picture that correlates with the segment of scriptures that is being used.

All in all, this book is a recommended purchase, for it will impress upon children the importance of being more like Jesus and less like the world.
