When God Whispers Your Name: Discover The Path To Hope In Knowing That God Cares For You, written by Max Lucado, is a book centered around guiding its audience into a more solidified relationship with Christ.
It would be hard to imagine anyone being able to walk away from a Max Lucado book feeling as if they had wasted their precious time. The topic is of no matter, for all Max expounds upon is blessed greatly by God, and this book is no exception.
As I turned through the pages of this book, I was carried into the stories in a manner that made me feel comfortable and enlightened. While this book contains 28 chapters, its content is, as with all of Max’s writings, simplified and easy to follow. Max describes his own reasoning behind his simplified, easy to understand, writing style through the following words that he penned in chapter five: “I believe in brevity. Cut the fat and keep the fact. Give us words to chew on, not words to wade through. Thoughts that spark, not lines that drag. More periods. Fewer Commas.”
Max, within this book, reminds his audience about the reality of being a Christian within this world, about what it means to be like Christ. In speaking of Christ in chapter two, Max shares the following, powerful truth: “Why did they invite him? I supposed they liked him. Big deal? I think it’s significant that common folk in a little town enjoyed being with Jesus. I think it’s noteworthy that the Almighty didn’t act high and mighty. The Holy One wasn’t Holier-than-thou. The One who knew it all wasn’t a know-it-all. The One who made the stars didn’t keep his head in them. The One who owns all the stuff of earth never strutted it.” Through these words, through this chapter, through this book, all who turn its pages will come to a greater understanding of what it means to be like Christ.
This book could not be recommended enough, for within it all should find the enlightenment of God shining upon their own life. Thus it is highly recommended
