Devotion 1/28/11

Philippians 4:18 I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

Paul received a great blessing from the Philippians while he was imprisoned in Rome. Their generosity in thinking of Paul’s needs touched his heart so much that he compared their gifts to an offering brought before and found pleasing by God. When Christians help those in need, they not only help the receiver of their help but also themselves.  As we, with the right heart and right motives, bring blessings into the lives of others, we will receive blessings in return, even if it is only knowing that we helped make a difference in someone’s life.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, use me to make a difference in the lives of others.
