Devotion 1/31/11

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

Hearts filled with pride do not believe their paths will be crossed by negativity, for they are grossly misdirected by a false sense of security. Hearts filled with pride cannot see within their lives even a tinge of weakness, for they see nothing but false perfection. A prideful heart is only but a moment from destruction, and it doesn’t even realize that it is coming like a speeding train seeking a place to crash. Hearts filled with pride have a one way ticket to eternity in Hell, but this doesn’t have to be the case. Hearts can be changed, hearts can be altered, but only by filling them with the presence of God. If you possess a prideful heart, turn it over to God and allow Him to redirect your energy that it might be used to glorify Him and expand His kingdom upon this earth.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help my heart become cleansed by Your presence.

Devotion 1/30/11

Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

I am honored to share with you daily devotions, but I will do this only six days a week…So let me encourage you to enter the house of God, on His day, the Lord’s Day, and receive your message from one of His many dedicated servants. May God bless you as your enter His house to receive His message and His guidance.
