Daily Devotion 11/21/11

Isaiah 5:22-23 Woe to those who are heroes at drinking wine and champions at mixing drinks, who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice to the innocent.
There is a difference in what the world perceives as a hero and what is a hero by definition of God. Within the world, a hero is found in the life of the party, the most successful, the strongest of all. But upon close examination of their lives, one would find that they are not heroes. In fact, one would find that they act in such an ungodly manner because of some underlying reason that they might not even realize themselves. A hero within the standards of the Bible is one who seeks to serve others in the name of Jesus. Yes, it is that plain and simple. A true hero, a hero in the eyes of God, is one who expresses His love within this world. Are you a true hero of God, a true hero of faith?

Prayer Starter:
Lord, help me become a true hero of faith as defined by You and Your Word, not this world.
