Matthew 24:4-10 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, `I am the Christ, ‘ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
It’s amazing how so many TV preachers are so openly embraced by society. Their words are given an elevation that is almost unapproachable by the “Common” man, for many think they hold all the answers to life here on earth and the eternal life that shall come to all. Are they actually deceivers? We watch them “religiously.” We buy their books and videos and hinge our lives upon the very words they speak. But the question comes once again, are they actually deceivers? The answer depends upon whom receives the question. So many people have been fooled by wolves dressed in fancy suits. So many people have been deceived by those who seek to fill their own pockets and not the hearts of believers. As Christians, we must fill our lives with the truth of our faith, and this includes doctrinal instruction, Biblically based, doctrinal instruction. We must walk away the desire to “Feel Good” about our faith and instead reach for a real and powerful faith filled with the truth of God.
