Daily Devotion 11/28/11

Luke 1:34-35 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” [35] The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
Mary’s confusion is understandable, for there are times when it is still hard to believe that God would send His son to dwell among us and die for our sins. Who are we that he cares so much? Who are we that He would leave His rightful place, His place of distinction, and walk within the filth of our sins? Who are we, that He would leave the splendors of Heaven and guide our worthless lives out of the sin-filled gutter? We might not always understand. At times, we might even be confused like Mary was when she was told of her journey of faith. But we can be assured of one thing: God loves us more than we will ever know, more than we will ever understand, and that will never change. So as life causes us to question, let us rely on the Word of God to delete them and fill us with His loving, sacrificial truth.

Prayer Starter:
Lord, become a reminder to my heart that I may never forget the love that You have for me.
