2 Peter 3:18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Christians should have an innate desire to grow in the knowledge of Christ, thus gaining the understanding of what He did for them and what they are to do for Him. Growth, for the Christian, must be a desired goal, or stagnation will be the result. Water on a pond that does not have any movement becomes stagnant, and its properties and appearance begin to change. Stagnation, in regards to the Christian, brings the same results. As we refrain from living as God has designated, our properties begin to change. As we refrain from being the type of person God requires, the appearance of our attitude begins to change. These changes, then, become a detriment to the kingdom of God, for they bring a tainted view of religion and a false view of God’s expectations of His children. So the question must be as follows: do you want people to really see God in you or receive a false impression of faith and religion from your actions?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me to have a real faith within this world that seems to have no clue as to what that might actually be.
