7/30/12 Daily Devotion

2 Corinthians 5:9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

Who are you trying to please? Whose approval are you seeking within your life? Are you trying to make happy those within your family? Are you trying to make your boss happy? Are you trying to make yourself happy? As Christians, our main goal in life should be to do all that we can to please God. We get so caught up in what people consider about us that we often forget to consider how we are pleasing God. We get so worried about our impressions within the lives of mere humans that we forget that it matters only that we please God.  We must strive to bring about a good impression before man, but this must NEVER take precedent over our desire to please God. For if we please man, it benefits us slightly here on earth, but if we please God it will benefit us for all eternity.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me bring You pleasure through the manner in which I live my life.
