7/31/12 Daily Devotion

Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

All that we are describes exactly who we are and what is important within our lives. As we live for the impression of man, we then express our concern for pleasing man; but as we live for the impression of God, we express our love for Him. Pleasing man will carry us favorably through our lives here on earth, but pleasing God will bring to us an eternity that reaches far beyond our imaginations, far beyond any earthly benefit we could ever receive.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, I want to please You and only You. Help me make this desire become a reality.

  1. Trying to please men–or at least, NOT displease men–is one of my greatest spiritual struggles. I can use every reminder I can get that God needs to be my only concern!

  2. You are not alone. I believe we all struggle within this area more than we realize. I will keep you in my prayers.
