8/8/12 Daily Devotion

Matthew 13:23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

The Parable of The Sower presents to us an interesting analogy of the movements of Satan within a heart that has not been completely surrendered to God. It is the desire of Satan to come into our lives and remove us from the presence and power of God. He will take up residence within the lives of those whose hearts have not opened up completely to God. He will slowly devour those who have taken in a minute amount of salvation, enough to fit into their schedule. But for those who were willing to become fertile ground, God will plant within them the path to righteousness, and they shall grow abundantly and produce a multitude of fruit. So this leave us at a place where we need to decide what we want out of our relationship with Christ. We already know that He was willing to lay His life down for each of us. Are we willing to do the same?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, lead me into becoming a vessel that You can work through within this world.
