8/10/12 Daily Devotion

Proverbs 5:13 I would not obey my teachers or turn my ear to my instructors.

Sound instruction, especially Biblical instruction, has a purpose, even when we do not feel led to believe in or embrace its purpose as presented to us. In many cases, we have issues with Biblical instruction because it goes against something we want to freely embrace within our lives. The fact that we have a choice should not prevent us from understanding that we will have to live with these choices. We can listen to or ignore the teachers God has put within our lives, for that is our right, but if we choose to be ignorant of their teaching, if we choose to ignore the truth God is speaking through them, we will have to stand before God. Then we will come to understand the magnitude of our decision.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me choose daily the correct path to walk.
