Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

The Galatians were returning to a place of slavery. They were returning to their appreciation of false entities that brought nothing real into their lives, with the exception of rules and regulations. They had come to know God, but  now they were turning their back on Him. They had come to experience true freedom, but now they were replacing that freedom by enslaving themselves once again to non-existent entities. Are we much different? There are times when we turn our backs on God and return to our former way of life. There are times when we choose the easy way of the world in place of the confinements of scripture. As Paul stated to the Galatians, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Let us today embrace these words and embrace the freedom we have received because of Christ.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, free me from my sins and fill me with purity. Free me from my desires and fill me with Yours.
