10/9/12 Daily Devotion

Isaiah 60:19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.

As we cross from this world into the next, the need for natural light will diminish. Those who cross over into the destructive confines of Hell will be forever immersed into darkness, while those who enter the splendors of Heaven will see by the light shining from the glory of God. This image we are presented with is nothing less than magnificent. The glory of God will shine so brightly that we will never need a single ray of the sun. The glory of God will shine so brightly that we will never need to plug in one single lamp. The glory of God will shine, and we have the chance to experience it for all eternity.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, I am grateful for Your sacrifice on the cross. I am grateful for Your love and mercy. Lord, my prayer today is that You begin to see this gratefulness lived out in my daily life.
