10/12/12 Daily Devotion

Acts 14:15 “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human, like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heavens and the earth and the sea and everything in them.

A lame man, for the first time in his life, began to walk as Paul brought forth the Word of God. Those within Lystra were amazed at the occurrence and began to treat Paul and Barnabas as if the were gods in the human form. They even went as far as calling Barnabas “Zeus” and Paul “Hermes.” Seeing the misdirection of the crowd, Paul and Barnabas tore their clothes, ran into the crowd, and tried to set them straight: they were not gods. They were trying to direct them towards the one true God, the Creator of all things. Paul adamantly believed and taught the existence of God and the results of His creations. He believed that Heaven was real and that God awaited the arrival of His faithful. He believed that God gave us His best, thus He is deserving of our best in return. To whom does your life clearly point, God or yourself?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help my life continually point out all that You have done in my life and within this world.
