11/5/12 Daily Devotion

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. [3] We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

How often do you pause within your day to pray? Have your prayers become repetitious irregardless of the situation? How important is prayer within your life? These questions are simple, but within their simplicity they open up our hearts to the possibility of a major infraction or problem. Many Christians have fallen away from God because they have cut off the communication lines. They look at prayer as a necessity when all other things have failed. They see it as a last resort, a final effort to correct the wrong within their lives, and that is wrong. How many marriages or friendships can last without any communication? The same applies to our relationship with God. If we refrain from communicating with Him, we lose the opportunity to enhance not only our lives, but those lives around us. To communicate with God is a privilege. Are you taking advantage of this privilege?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me take advantage of the opportunity I have to bring everything to You in prayer.
