11/13/12 Daily Devotion

Acts 2:46-47 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, [47] praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Those who attended the early church knew what it meant to get involved within the church. Church became and remained an essential part of their lives. They centered their lives around church, which is the opposite of what we do within society today. Today, we prefer to fit church into our schedules. We prefer to have it fit into that which we are doing and, therefore, declare that it is not an essential part of our lives. How involved in church are you?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me understand the need to place myself fully into serving within the local church. Help me see that my involvement will make a drastic difference not only in the lives of others, but also in my life.
