12/10/12 Daily Devotion

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

What would the world be like without Jesus? Throughout history, there has been a visible decline in morals, attitude, and graciousness. We have seen a society that was predominately Christian become one that has begun to drastically remove Christianity from the forefront. There are more people that now declare the desired absence of Jesus from their lives than ever before. So one can only imagine what it would be like if there were never any Savior. While God watches the downturn in society, He does not question bringing His Son into this world. While God observes the negative shift in society, He does not question the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. If God were to ever question the presence of Christ within this world, He would then be declaring the unworthiness of the few followers. Since God is pleased when a single sinner repents, the entrance of Jesus within this world will always have been a decision well made. For that, each Christian should rejoice.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, for your gift of salvation through Your Son Jesus, I am forever grateful.
