12/20/12 Daily Devotion

Luke 1:68 “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them.

Jesus came into this world because this world needed a redeemer. Since the inception of sin within the garden of Eden, this world took a turn from the magnificent creation God had originally brought into existence. As time passed, sin continued to rampantly progress within the daily lives of those who walked upon this earth. At one point, the sinfulness of man was so bad that God decided to begin again, thus the creation of Noah’s ark. Even after this, the vast majority of new inhabitants proved to be just as religiously unreliable. The last chance for society was a redeemer that would become the final sacrifice for the sins of mankind. Jesus, the Son of God, became this redeemer by shedding His blood on the cross of Calvary. Praise be to God for the love He has shown us through the offering of His Son. May our lives be worthy of this sacrifice.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, may my life sacrificially honor You because of Your sacrifice for me.
