12/21/12 Daily Devotion

Revelation 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,

The Christmas season is centered around the birth of Jesus, as it rightly should, but there are other underlying moments within the life of Jesus that should be thought of, remembered, and shared. These moments of reference refer to the trial, mocking, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Why would we want to remember these moments in the life of Jesus during the Christmas season? Simply stated, because they are the reasons He came into this world. Jesus came and died to bring us the opportunity to receive salvation, and without salvation this world would be lost. Our sins have been released through His shed blood on the cross, and for that we should be forever grateful and forever willing to serve Him.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, You have done so much for me. May I live in such a manner that my life brings You glory.
