1/3/13 Daily Devotion

1 Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, [9] for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Christians are different from those within the world because we possess expectant faith. We cannot see God, but we believe in His presence. We cannot touch God, but we believe that our lives can be touched by God. Many who do not know God find it amazing that Christians can set their lives before Him with expectation, knowing that He will work for the betterment of their lives. Many who do not know God find it troubling that Christians would hand over their lives to a deity that they have not met, but that is the power of faith. Our lives as Christians should be centered around faith, and faith is what keeps us moving forward towards God.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, expand my faith and give it power to bring You glory.
