1/11/13 Daily Devotion

2 Corinthians 5:9 So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.

What is the most important thing you want to accomplish with your life? The superficial answers to this question come with ease; but as it regards the eternal, it is a different story. Everyone has things that they are striving to accomplish within their lives: financial security, retirement, college funds, etc., but are these the most important things we need to accomplish? These are all commendable, and those who can see them to fruition should be congratulated, but is this what the Christian should see as important? As Christians, we should have concern for these areas of our lives, but the most important accomplishment should be the manner in which we live our lives for Jesus. If we fail to live powerfully for Jesus yet accomplish everything else, what shall God say when we stand before Him?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, there are so many things I would love to accomplish while upon this earth, but I do not want any of them to prevent me from living for You. Please guide me in the endeavor.
