2/4/13 Daily Devotion

1 Peter 3:17
For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Suffering is something that no one wants to have within their lives. Life without any form of suffering, if it were possible, would probably be the wish of all mankind, but that is just unrealistic. While we will all suffer at many points within our lives for a variety of reasons, the Christian will usually suffer more. As Satan comes to understand our potential in serving God, he will bring as much havoc into our lives as he possibly can. He does this to thwart our efforts at expanding the kingdom of God. Satan knows what his eternity holds, thus he will work to diligently to bring as many people with him as possible. While this suffering will not be joyous, it will speak to the fact that Satan is concerned about our ability to make a positive difference within this world for the sake of Christ. That is where our suffering becomes joyous.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, carry me when I am weak, walk with me when I am strong, guide me when I am lost, and lead me into becoming a blessing filled with Your presence.
