2/11/13 Daily Devotion

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

The word love floats through the world without much meaning. The word is attached to inanimate objects, clothing, food items, school subjects, socks, and people, as well as numerous other things. Within today’s society, it is released into the ears of many young girls, even as young as five or six, by wanna be boyfriends. Before we throw out the word love, we must first understand that it is a word that should not be used lightly. It is a word that should be used with care and concern. It is a word that should hold a powerful meaning. For if it does not, it will not bring about the altering of lives. Christians are different because of the love of God. The love of God within a Christian holds power: the power to overcome and conquer, the power to transform and restore. Christians should above all express the love of God within this world; but we must understand the meaning, or the meaning will not be understood by others coming from us.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, fill me with Your love and let that love flow through me powerfully into this world.
