4/8/13 Daily Devotion

Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. [34] Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We spend an unhealthy amount of time covered within the constraints of worry. Worry, as we allow it to enter our lives, takes control of our forward motion, for worry halts us from moving forward out of fear. There is not one person who can state that he has not allowed worry to affect his life. The key for us Christians is to release our worry into the hands of God and trust Him with the outcome. In some cases, this is, of course, easier said than done. But as we grow in our relationship with God, it becomes something that can be accomplished. How is this accomplished? Through a life filled with the powerful presence of prayer. Prayer helps clear our minds of our concerns and fills them with trust in God. The more we pray, the more we trust. The more we trust, the more peace will reign within our lives.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me see what my life can be like if I would just come to trust You more as each moment comes forth.
