5/24/13 Daily Devotion

Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

As Christians, we are called to be a reflection of Christ. Christ, in turn, was the image in human form. Thus we are called to formulate our lives to the image of God. While this is difficult, it is possible. One area in which we fall short of reflecting God is in the sharing of truth. We often believe it is necessary to change the truth or create a different version of its existence to bring about a specific result, but this is wrong. To intentionally adjust the truth to bring about a desired result is lying, and being a liar is not being a reflection of God. It’s fairly simple: we will choose to become children of God, living a life that reflects Him, or we will choose to become products of our own selfish ambitions.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, make me into a powerful reflection of Your presence, so this world can see the extent of Your love.
