5/25/13 Daily Devotion

Colossians 3:9-10 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices [10] and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

What does it say to the world if our actions are no different than those who are worldly? If we claim an allegiance to God, if we claim to be His servants, yet we continue to be a reflection of the world, we are lying about ourselves. When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we made a commitment to Him and His Word, a commitment to change our lives. When we present our lives within this world, we must present ourselves an image of God. When we are with other Christians, we must present ourselves an image of God. This world needs us, as Christians, to be Christians. It needs to see us standing up for our faith. It needs us to present the truth in love. It needs us, but are we willing to fulfill this need?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me fulfill my purpose while I am here upon this earth.
