6/7/13 Daily Devotion

Hebrews 10:25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

So many people are fed up with the organized church, and many of them utilize their reasoning as a means for their lack of attendance on Sunday mornings. There is a major problem with this theology, one that needs to be addressed. We don’t go to church to satisfy man; we go to church to worship God. In most cases, our reasoning is just an excuse in an attempt to cover up the actual problem, our relationship with God. We refrain from church, in most cases, because we do not want to change. We do not want God to move powerfully through our lives. Church is a time of worship, a time of praise, and it is and always to be a place where God speaks to our hearts about the direction of our lives. Let us, then, come to worship with hearts that are ready to be moved by the power of God, instead of hearts that are closed to His true presence.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me come to understand the affect my church attendance can have upon my life.
