Exodus 20:13 “You shall not murder.

The reasoning behind this verse should be self-evident: murder is not condoned by God. Hmmm, that brings up some interesting questions while reading the Old Testament. While it is not ours to question the wisdom of God, we can see where some might find confusion. All in all, murder, the taking of someone’s life, is against the Bible, but there are a few exceptions. Those that are serving in the armed forces, those that are protecting our cities, those that have a job where it may become necessary to use deadly force are excluded from the exactness of this verse. For the average everyday person, we are to treat this verse in regards to our actions. Our actions must be Biblical. We must strive to live out the gospel to the best of our ability, knowing that we will make mistakes, but hoping that these mistakes will teach us how to correctly present the gospel.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me to reflect within my actions the belief that I claim to have within my heart.
