7/12/13 Daily Devotion

2 Thessalonians 2:15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

Within most homes today, we can find at least one copy of the Word of God. Praise be to God for helping this be true. The majority of these homes that contain the Word of God have something in common, the dust that has gathered upon the Word from lack of use. The Bible was brought forth as a tool to be utilized in aiding us into a more powerful understanding of God and the direction that He has for our lives, but many of us do not set aside the time to embrace its teachings. We get so bogged down by life and so caught up in all of our responsibilities, that we simply run out of time to study the Bible. Well, that’s what we say, even though it is not true. Our studying of the Bible is of vital importance and needs to be treated in such a manner. If we were to examine our lives, we would discover that we find time to accomplish everything that is important. So the question is simply, how important is the Bible within your life?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, teach me how to embrace the power found within Your Word, that it may not only impact me but also impact this world in which I live.
