7/13/13 Daily Devotion

Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

To live for God is to place Him above all else within our lives. How many times have we taken a drink only to spew it from our mouthes because it no longer refreshing? The answer is probably so many that we no longer have an accurate count. We force the fluid back out of our mouthes because it is no longer pleasing, no longer refreshing. With this in mind, we must then consider the following: if our Christianity is lukewarm, how do we think it makes God feel? God wants us to make a choice and live that choice out loud. If we are going to live for God, then we must live for Him openly and proudly. If we are going to live for ourselves, then we must embrace this decision openly and proudly. In other words, God wants us to stop pretending to be Christians and embrace the lives we want to live, but choose wisely, because our decisions are attached to eternal consequences.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me show the world that I have given my life over to You.
