Mark 11:30 John’s baptism—was it from heaven, or of human origin? Tell me!”

This is a very good question brought forth by Jesus. He shared this question with the teachers of the law and the elders after they questioned His authority. This question was brought forth to test their understanding of prophecy, as it pertained to His arrival and His abilities. They were stumped, for they could not come up with an answer that would suit the situation because they were fearful of the reaction to their response and/or responses. To be baptized or not is a tough question to be asked. We know we should be baptized, but how do we explain it to others? How do we come across in a manner that demonstrates our understanding of scripture? How do we inform them biblically? There is no easy answer to these questions except, study. The Bible is clear when it states that we should be ready to give an answer for what we claim to believe. Study the scriptures. Study them, know the basic precepts, and understand as much as possible so an answer can be given. If needed, the major verses, those important to that which we believe, can be written down on a card and kept in a wallet or purse, thus giving the opportunity to refer to it when needed without embarrassment.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me retain an understanding of what I believe, so I may be able to share this with others as they so desire to hear.
