10/10/13 Daily Devotion

Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

The Bible clearly teaches us that we are to expect temptations and trials. It states that we will be shunned and ridiculed. It strives to help us understand that as Jesus experienced, so will we, to a certain extent. We might not have to give our lives up for the sake of the gospel, but we will experience some hardships, some difficult moments. While this is not pleasant news, it comes with an amazing ending. Here life can be difficult. It can be filled with tears. It can be surrounded by pain, but that will cease as we cross from this world into the eternal. When we are in glory within the presence of God, all hardships will disappear, and the rejoicing will begin. So as we endure the moments of life, let us not forget about eternity.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me embrace that which I must endure here upon this earth, as I await the coming time when it will all fade away as I enter into eternity with You.
