10/11/13 Daily Devotion

1 Peter 1:6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.

WOW! How can we be expected to greatly rejoice in our suffering? This ideology sounds ridiculous, especially to a non-believer. As believers, this should be understood, because scripture clearly states that we should anticipate the presence of trials and embrace their existence as tools within our lives. What can trials teach us? How can grief be a blessing to our lives? They are tools of growth. Experiencing trials of any kind helps us become more dependent upon the presence of God within our lives. It helps us understand the need for His guidance, and it teaches us how to become a true representation of Christ within this world. SO, next time a trial arrives within your life, turn to God and ask Him to powerfully teach you until the lesson has been learned.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me feel Your instruction within the trials of life. Help me grow closer to You as we walk through the tough moments ahead.
