11/5/13 Daily Devotion

1Timothy 1:5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

The goal of our lives as Christians is to express the love of God within this world, and this comes from possessing a pure heart. Expressing the tenants of Christianity through our lives can be difficult, but they remain a possibility. They flow out of a heart that purely seeks the existence of God. They emerge from a life that is centered around the presence of God. They come from a person with directed and purposeful faith. What is the purpose of your life? What is the focus of your faith? Are you striving to serve God or yourself? Is your heart purely focused on the desires of God or the existence of self? The goal of our life should be to express the untainted, unadulterated, powerful love of God to anyone who is willing to listen, to anyone who is seeking. What is the purpose of your life? What is the focus of your faith?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me live a life filled with a faithfully focused purpose.
