1 Corinthians 4:12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;

Paul understands completely what it means to be a servant of God and all that it entails. Paul has been on both sides of the spectrum, having enjoyed good times and endured the bad, but he never regretted his decision to give his life to Jesus and follow in His steps. Paul was explaining to the church at Corinth what it means to be a servant, what it means to be a child of God. Serving God comes with an understanding of actions and reactions. When we serve God, how we act and react to situations is very important, for it shows the depth of our relationship with Christ. When situations are thrown in our faces and we give negatively exactly what we have received, we are demonstrating that we are worldly. But if, instead, we respond in a manner that reflects the presence of God indwelling within us, we are then setting an example that is to be followed and admired. Life is hard enough without acting in ways that make situations more difficult to endure.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me approach all situations with a righteous attitude.
