11/22/13 Daily Devotion

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Have you ever been persecuted because of your faith? We might not answer yes to this question, but there are times when we are and don’t realize that it has or is happening. If there was any moment when your faith came into question, if there was any moment when you were laughed at because of church or church attendance, if there has been any moment when you were ridiculed because of your refusal to participate in an activity forbidden by the Bible, then you have been persecuted because of your faith. For some, it is minor, and yet for others it can be pretty drastic. But for all Christians, there will be persecution, and that’s a promise from Jesus. Those who are persecuted are those who stand up for their beliefs, and, because of their willingness to take a stand, theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, find me daily living a faithful life, even in the midst of any trials or tribulations.
