12/20/13 Daily Devotion

Romans 14:17-18 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, (18) because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

Are you living to please God? If you are a Christian, if you have been saved and sanctified by the blood of Jesus, then you have reason to rejoice. If you are a Christian, if you have been saved and sanctified by the blood of Jesus, you have reason to serve. The way we live, the way we act, the way we present our religiosity, matters more than we seem to understand, for the way we act most of the time does not demonstrate the convictions we claim with our mouths. Every day brings to us a new choice, a choice to serve a risen King or serve ourselves. We can choose live it up within this world or share the righteousness of God with those in this world. What will it be for you?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, use me to spread Your love and compassion within this world. Use me to bring Your peace into as many lives as I can before my time on this earth is up.
