1/1/14 Daily Devotion

1 Corinthians 12:21 The eye cannot say to the hand, I don’t need you! And the head cannot say to the feet, I don’t need you!

What happens if a single player on a football team decides to work for his own glory, disregarding the best interest of the team? Simply stated, that team will fail. While each team has members that possess different skills and/or skill levels, if each one seeks his own glory, his own spotlight, the team suffers greatly. The same is true within the church. Each member of the church is important. Each member of the church is necessary. When everyone works together for the glory of God, their efforts will be blessed. However, as each individual strives to seek his own glory, the entire church suffers. Thus each and every person within the church is vital; each and every person within the church is important.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me see the potential within myself to have a great impact on the witness of the church.
