1/6/14 Daily Devotion

1 Corinthians 13:6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

Love rejoices with the truth. What does such a statement really mean, and how does it relate to the church? The focus of a church is very important. The focus of the church carries it forward or holds it in the past. The message of the church is an important part of this focus, and the message must be filled with truth. So many churches are focusing so much on the numbers in attendance that they lose sight of the true focus, the changing of lives scripturally. In order for a church to be unified, its members must be unified in their purpose, in their focus. As the members of a church come together and see what God has called them and their church to become, they can then rejoice in the truth. For if we love God, we will seek to live within His truth personally and corporately as a church body.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me rejoice in the truth of Your existence within my life, within my church.
