1/13/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 2:5-7 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

What is the focus of the church? What should be the focus of the church? These are seemingly two simple questions, but their answers are, unfortunately, not usually unanimous. When we ask others about the focus of the church, we receive many different responses, most of which are tailored to personal preferences. These preferences revolve around that which we personally feel is important, that which led to our lives being changed, thus we feel they can do the same for others. What is the focus of the church? This question should be answered simply as follows: The focus of the church should revolve around He who made Himself nothing that we can have everything God offers. The focus of the church should revolve around Jesus. For as it does, the church will be blessed, and the community will see His power and presence.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me help my church focus more on You and less on my personal ideology.
