1/15/14 Daily Devotion

1Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering Gods grace in its various forms.

So often we consider what we have to say as more important than the wishes of others. This ideology is not Biblical. The Bible teaches us that we are to consider the needs of others, so much so that we put them before ourselves, so much so that we act to fulfill their needs, at times, before our own. This concept is one that many refuse to follow. It is one that many overlook because it goes against all that they are taught from society; look out for number one. Stop for a moment and consider how our lives would be right now if Jesus gauged His life with this type of philosophy. Jesus taught us that living for God involves serving others. After considering the life of Jesus, we’re left with one simple question: Will we follow His example or follow our own?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me see the path that You have walked and do all that I can to emulate it within my life.
