1/22/14 Daily Devotion

2 Thessalonians 3:2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not everyone has faith.

When Christians make a conscious choice to serve God, they anger Satan. In his anger, Satan will do everything he can to keep them from living out their faith, anything he can to keep them from influencing others with the gospel. Church leaders are at greater risk when it comes to the desires of Satan. Church leaders are at greater risk because of the powerful influence they have within the church and upon its members. We, as church members, must pray that our leaders refrain from walking into a trap provided by Satan. We must pray that they will hold firmly to the precepts of the Bible, the desires of God. We must pray that they, if tempted, will grasp onto the hand of God and allow Him to be their strength.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, I lift before You the leaders of my church. Please give them the strength they need to walk firm in their faith, to walk within a life focused on You.
