2/14/14 Daily Devotion

Galatians 1:11-12 I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

Paul had the opportunity of a lifetime. Many people had come to faith because of his teachings. Many people had begun to follow him, hoping to experience the words that flowed from his lips. With all the attention that was flowing his way, Paul had the opportunity to embrace his fame and utilize it for personal glory, but he always pointed away from himself and towards the One who could bring them what they needed most in their lives. In the midst of today’s televangelists and preachers whose messages seem to be filled with an agenda, can those around us see the truth of our faith, the truth of our love for God? For if they see anything else, then our Christianity is not about Christianity after all.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help my relationship with You be always something that I cherish, something that others see as genuine, something this world understands to be real.
