3/5/14 Daily Devotion

Galatians 4:12 I plead with you, brothers, become like me, for I became like you. You have done me no wrong.

Paul wanted the Galatians to become like him, to emulate his way of living. This might seem like a conceited suggestion, but Paul was stating this with the purest of intentions, the purest of motives. Paul was living his life completely for Jesus, and he knew that following his example would bring the Galatians back on track. He knew that following his example would help the Galatians come back to the path from which they had strayed. Paul’s life reflected the sincerity of his faith. Paul’s life reflected the sincerity of his motives. Paul could make such a claim because it was not about him, but his willingness to follow Jesus. Can we do the same? Would it be a good idea if we asked others to follow us as we follow Christ?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me demonstrate the sincerity of my faith within this world.
