3/11/14 Daily Devotion

Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

What matters when it comes to religion? Are the governing rules the most important? Are the manufactured rules the most important? Most would agree that the governing rules and/or manufactured rules are important, for they give us the guidelines of our faith. Without faith, however, are they really important? At times, we become so inundated with the rules that we lose sight of our faith. At times, we become so focused on the following of guidelines developed by man under the guise of formulating a better walk, a better Godly existence, that we lose sight of our faith. Losing sight of faith is exactly what happened to the Galatians. They wanted to become more Holy, more Godly, more religious, and in doing so they lost sight of the core of their Christianity. They lost sight of their faith. Losing sight of our faith causes us to walk a path that is not ordained by God. Losing sight of our faith causes us to lose sight of the most important aspect of our lives, Jesus.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me remain focused on You and Your desires for my life. Help me hold onto my faith in You, that I might please You with my existence.
