3/28/14 Daily Devotion

Galatians 6:2 Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

Many years ago, there was a television show entitled “The Lone Ranger.” The title alone, without the concept of the show present, gives a very specific visualization. The title alone gives the impression of a Lone Ranger going forth in society righting wrongs, fighting crime, chasing the proverbial bad guy, ALONE. For those who are old enough to have seen the show, the understanding is clear; the ranger was not alone. He had Tonto at his side. Tonto aided the ranger in his work; he aided the ranger in his existence. So, the Lone Ranger was not so alone. No, this is not a lesson in television history. This is a lesson in Christian actions. As Christians, we are called to put ourselves out there for others. We are called to reach for and help in ways that we are able. We are called to be there for others, that we might become a source of hope in a hopeless situation, a source of joy in a sad situation, a source of direction for those who are feeling lost. We are not called to be Lone Rangers. Even he had Tonto.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me become willing to reach out to others when they are in need. Help me become willing to share my life with them when they are hurting.

  1. when we stand up we are strong, we only fear when we feel we are alone, as i often state, if we dont support what is good, what are we doing, or what are we encouraging, amen, amen
