5/17/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

In all our lives, there is a purpose present, a purpose that is ordained by God. Before we were even a thought, before we were even a twinkle in our mother’s eye, God had a purpose for our existence. This is hard for us to fathom. This is hard for us to completely understand, but it’s true. There within the vastness of God’s wisdom lies a plan for the advancement of His kingdom and the spreading of the gospel. This plan is intricate; it is plausible, but it also finite. This plan is finite not because of God. This plan is finite because it involves the choices of humans. We have the choice. We have the opportunity to serve Him or live for ourselves, thus causing an altering of the plan. It should be understood that God’s plan will succeed no matter what we choose, for it was known from the beginning who would follow and who would refuse. Will you be a follower and drastically impact this world or simply just exist?

Prayer Starter:

Lord, prepare me to be a powerful servant, one that will make a drastic difference for You within this world.
