5/22/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 2:19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,

Everyone knows what it feels like not to be included. Everyone knows what it feels like to be picked and/or considered last, even those that find their place within the popular crowd. At one point, the Ephesians were in this position. At one point, the Ephesians were considered to be worthless, idol worshipping, filth. Then came a gift from God, the apostle Paul. Paul was God’s messenger to the Gentiles. He was the avenue that God utilized to reach those that others felt were undeserving, those that others treated as if they were less than human. Sound familiar? While those within this world, those who feel as if they are more important, at times, reject us, we can find joy in the fact that God will never leave nor forsake us. God will be present in our lives even when we don’t seem to want Him. He will continue to love us even when we seem to hold no love for Him. Once we transfer our lives over to God. We are then fellow citizens within His kingdom, we are then His children.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, You are so gracious to allow me to become part of Your family. Please help me to always cherish this gift, to always be grateful for this opportunity.
