6/12/14 Daily Devotion

Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

It is the desire of Paul that the Ephesians would come to understand that their embracement of God and His ways will cause them to mature, thus finding the ability to combat any attempts to draw them towards a false set of beliefs, a false sense of religion. Being grounded in scripture makes a difference within our lives. It allows us to have a foundation that will guide our lives down the correct path, down the path of God. Being grounded in scripture allows us to fight off any attempts to alter our beliefs or understanding of God. Being ground in scripture allows us to become mature believers that will be able to stand against the world’s desire to toss our faith to and fro in an attempt to confuse and/or mislead the direction of our lives.

Prayer Starter:

Lord, help me become grounded in Your Word, that I might be able to fend off any attempt to adjust my faith.
